Oh So Arty Privileges
Visiting a gallery with Oh So Arty means you'll have the exclusive privilege to meet with a gallery director or owner. The opportunity to visit an artist's private studio is rare and special. On this tour you'll be able to discuss the artist's work with them intimately and get a behind the scenes look at their creative process. You can engage in a meaningful dialogue with these insiders as you tour their most current exhibitions.
Javier Garcia is a graffiti writer and street art guide at Cooltourspain project. He became interested with the wild style at the age of 12 when still at middle school. His connection to Madrid's local community of urban artists will offer you a unique opportunity to hear stories about this underground culture. Javier's teaching background will also allow you to learn the techniques used while coloring the streets, either legally or under the radar.
1. Lavapiés Street Art
This is our most popular guided visit. It covers the multicultural neighborhood of Lavapiés and the featured artwork from CALLE Lavapies, Muros Tabacalera and Urvanity. All these graffiti festivals are celebrated yearly and the streets of the neighborhood are colored by hundreds of artists who use different techniques. It is a great introduction for those guests who have a first contact with this type of art. We will also explain about the history of this underground movement.
