THE SCENE

Sophie at Luhring Augustine Bushwick

The New York art scene is vast and can be intimidating to newcomers and locals alike.

Many established galleries are located in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. It is the center of the city’s art scene boasting a couple hundred galleries.

Due to high rent prices in Chelsea many galleries have moved to the Lower East Side of Manhattan and eventually to Brooklyn. An emerging art scene can be found in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick which has lots of artists’ studios and street art.

Sophie offers gallery tours of Bushwick.

Bushwick’s art scene is incredibly unique and diverse. There are a bevy of artists’ studios, art hubs housing multiple galleries under one roof, and amazing street art. On this tour you will have the opportunity to visit 3-5 galleries while enjoying street art along the way for a true taste of Bushwick.
